A Lap for Parkinson’s – 29th April 2023

For Parkinson’s Awareness Month this April, Home Instead, in conjunction with Parkinson’s Queensland and Atkins Health, are encouraging you to complete A Lap for Parkinson’s!
A Lap for Parkinson’s is a special invite that invites individuals from all walks of life to walk with and support those who are living with Parkinson’s. The objective of the event is to raise awareness to the community so that they may understand more about Parkinson’s. Creating a supportive and informed community may welcome more people with Parkinson’s to admit they have it and live more quality lives for it. People with a Parkinson’s diagnosis can still live a long and fulfilled life; Parkinson’s often takes decades in its progression and if the person undertakes meaningful and focused interventions, they can slow its progress.
Registration
The event is open to all. Register your attendance for $8 to get an automatic entry into a raffle that will be drawn on the day.
On the Day
A Lap for Parkinson’s will take place on Saturday, 29th of April 2023. Please arrive at 8.15am for a 8.30am start at Gold Coast Performance Centre, Sports Drive, Runaway Bay Gold Coast.
At the event in addition to the walk, you will be able to try out some activities and movement stations with the Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists from Atkins Health.
