Hello,
As the president of Parkinson’s Queensland, I’m proud to play a part in improving the lives of those living with Parkinson’s Disease, their families, their carers and their friends. Parkinson’s is the second most common disease in Australia, where over 120,000 Australians and an estimated 18,000 Queenslanders are living with the disease, and 37 are diagnosed each day. However, it doesn’t just stop there. Beyond those living with the disease, more than 800,000 Australians are indirectly affected by Parkinson’s, whether that be family members, partners, friends, health professionals and carers. Parkinson’s Queensland’s mission is to advocate for and provide support to Queensland’s Parkinson’s community, as well as raise awareness and educate those who aren’t affected – and we’d like your help to do so.
I invite you, your family, friends and colleagues to become active members of Parkinson’s Queensland Inc. Your membership will assist Parkinson’s Queensland as we strive to achieve our vision of a world without Parkinson’s and our mission to identify, develop and promote best practice to support people living with Parkinson’s.
To those who are current members, donors, and sponsors, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for your continued support of Parkinson’s Queensland and making our mission possible year upon year.
Warmest regards,
Professor George D Mellick
President
Parkinson’s Queensland Inc.
