IMPORTANT information regarding COVID-19 vaccination requirements
The Parkinson’s Queensland Incorporated (PQI) Management Committee met on November 20 to discuss the current COVID-19 environment and Government health directives.
The Committee took the decision to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations for all staff and volunteers including Support Group Coordinators and members of the Management Committee from January 31 2022.
This decision was taken in line with health advice and in the interests of the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and the Parkinson’s community more broadly including those of you who attend Support Group meetings.
From January 31 next year all staff and volunteers must be fully vaccinated in order to continue in their roles with PQI.
This means that if you attend a Parkinson’s Support Group your Coordinator will need to be fully vaccinated in order to continue facilitating the meetings.
While we acknowledge everyone’s individual right to choose whether or not to be vaccinated, the decision to mandate vaccines is in line with PQI’s focus on the health and safety of all staff, volunteers and all of you, our Parkinson’s community. If you are not vaccinated we would encourage you to speak to your Doctor about the vaccine.
