Parkinson’s Queensland – Larapinta Trek 2024

August 27 - September 1

Larapinta Trek 2024 – 27th August – 1st September 2024

Join us on this fascinating trek through the outback to raise funds that will increase awareness of Parkinson’s across the Queensland community. Over six inspiring days you will become immersed in the Dreamtime traditions of the Western Arrernte Aboriginal peoples, following rugged Dreaming tracks beside an ancient river system.

Discover the diverse desert habitat from one of Australia’s premier walking routes, passing incredible natural wonders from the narrow ochre passage at Wallaby gap to the towering walls and cooling waters of Ormiston Gorge. A highlight of your trip will be the early morning ascent of Mount Sonder to enjoy a panoramic sunrise over the West MacDonnell Ranges from the 1,380m peak. At the end of each day, camp beneath rusty sunsets and endless stars, listening to the timeless sounds of the native wildlife of Central Australia.

And with every step, help to improve the lives of those living with Parkinson’s and their families.
