Recent media coverage has highlighted an international clinical trial exploring cell-based therapies for Parkinson’s disease. The research aims to investigate whether implanted dopamine-producing cells may help restore motor function and potentially modify disease progression — an area of significant global scientific interest.

While research outcomes remain uncertain and further study is needed, initiatives like these represent important steps toward better treatments and improved quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s.

Parkinson’s Queensland values the expertise and dedication Dr Lehn brings to our Management Committee. His clinical knowledge, research involvement and commitment to improving outcomes for people living with Parkinson’s help strengthen the organisation’s mission to provide support, education and advocacy across Queensland.

We thank Dr Lehn for his ongoing contribution to both the Parkinson’s community and the advancement of neurological research.
