A Special Milestone in Chinchilla:
Welcoming a New Parkinson’s Support Group
02 February 2026
It was a truly special day in Chinchilla as Coordinator Nikki and local support group members welcomed Parkinson’s Queensland Support & Community Navigator, Kristine, to attend the very first official Parkinson’s Queensland Chinchilla Support Group meeting.
This new group represents an important step forward for the local Parkinson’s community, creating a welcoming space where people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers can connect, share experiences, access information and support one another.
We extend our sincere thanks to Nikki and all group members who made the day so meaningful. Their enthusiasm, warmth and commitment to supporting each other highlight the strength of community connection and the difference it can make.
Establishing support groups in areas where services and connection opportunities are limited remains a priority for Parkinson’s Queensland. The Chinchilla group is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when community members, volunteers and our team work together toward a shared goal.
Moments like this remind us exactly why we do what we do — helping build supportive, informed and connected communities for people living with Parkinson’s across Queensland. We look forward to seeing this group grow and thrive in the months ahead.
