Boxing for Parkinson’s Disease – PD Punch Program (Townsville)
Exercise plays a vital role in supporting people living with Parkinson’s disease, helping improve mobility, balance, mood and overall quality of life. Evidence suggests that targeted, high-intensity exercise can complement medical treatment and support brain health through neuroplasticity.
Empower Health NQ has launched PD Punch, a Parkinson’s-specific boxing program designed to safely support people living with Parkinson’s through structured, non-contact exercise.
Research shows boxing-style training may help:
-
Improve gait, balance and mobility
-
Reduce depressive symptoms
-
Enhance quality of life
-
Support coordination, memory and cognitive focus
-
Improve confidence and independence
This specialised program combines cardio fitness, strength, agility, coordination and cognitive engagement in a supportive environment tailored specifically for Parkinson’s.
